The Republican Party of Texas adopted my resolution at our State Convention in June, calling for immediate conversion of Social Security and Medicare to private accounts. This solution sells easily, we just need to get it in front of more people. Former Ways and Means Chairman Bill Archer (my longtime mentor on this topic) is stirring the pot for this in Washington, and we need to recruit a champion who can take this to the next level with a national effort to educate the public about what’s possible. This solution not only provides a secure and abundant retirement income for everyone, but also solves the Medicare funding challenge while unleashing market forces which slow down the growth rate of healthcare costs.
