It looks like Mrs. Reagan will be going home from the hospital today:

SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- A spokeswoman said former first lady Nancy Reagan is expected to be released Tuesday from a hospital where she spent two nights as a precaution after falling down Sunday in her California home.

Spokeswoman Joanne Drake said doctors determined she did not break a hip as first feared.

This is welcome news. We wish Mrs. Reagan the best.

Spokeswoman Joanne Drake says the 87-year-old Reagan was taken to St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica for examination Sunday. Doctors determined she did not break a hip as feared.

Welcome to our site. Our movement began about a year ago thanks to the efforts of a man named Jeff Mitchell. Jeff put together DraftFredThompson.com, a forum for discussion of all things Fred Thompson. Jeff's site drew a whole lot of people from all walks of life, but they had in common the feeling that none of the Republican candidates in the race for President reflected their own conservative views. (Jeff's site continues today as the Reagan Coalition Forum and continues to be an excellent forum for discussion of federalist conservative ideas.)

Through a lot of discussion online and elsewhere, we learned that many of us drawn to Fred Thompson were drawn to him because of his articulation of traditional American principles like federalism, limited government and the need for fiscal discipline. Today, these are all considered "conservative" principles, but it wasn't that many years ago that these fundamental principles were simply considered "American" principles.

Those of us who have joined Conservatives for Advancement of the Reagan Coalition still believe passionately in these principles.
